जय छठी माता!!

हिन्दू सनातन संस्कृतिको महान पर्व छठ मनाउनेहरू कम्तीमा एक महिनासम्म साकाहारी भएर बस्नुपर्छ । प्रकृतिको काखमा गरिने  सुन्दर पूजा छठ हो। 

ब्रतको पहिलो दिनलाई “ नहा खा “ ( नुहाएर खाने ) भनिन्छ । यो दिन ब्रतालुहरू जलाशयमा गएर नुहाउँछन् र त्यसपछि लसुन प्याज नभएको खाना खान्छन् ।

ब्रतको दोस्रो दिनलाई खरना भनिन्छ । यो दिन ब्रतालुहरू दिनभरी निराहार बसेर बेलुका मातालाई आरती गरेर  खीर पूरी को भोग लगाई आफ्ना छिमेकी तथा इष्टमित्रलाई खीर पूरी खुवाउँछन् र आफू पनि ग्रहण गर्छन् । यसपछि ब्रत नसकुन्जेल सम्म केहि पनि खाँदैनन् ।

ब्रतको तेस्रो दिनलाई " साझिया घाट " भनिन्छ । यो दिन बिहान ३ बजे नै ब्रतालुहरू उठेर नुहाउछन् र चुलो बालेर ठेकुवा, कसार, टोपिया मिठाइ, पेरुकिया आदि पकाउँछन् । यी सबै पकवान बनाएर दउरामा ( बाँसले बनेको एकप्रकारको टोकरीमा ) सजाउँछन् । बच्चादेखि बुढासम्म सबैले नयाँ नयाँ लुगा लगाएर जलाशयमा पुगेर अस्ताउँदो सूर्यलाई अरघ ( पकाएका पकवानहरू आर्पन गर्नु ) दिन्छन् । भजन किर्तन गर्दै रात त्यहि बिताउँछन् ।

ब्रतको अन्तिम दिनलाई “ भिनहिया ( बिहानी ) घाट ” भनिन्छ । यो दिन उदाउँदो सूर्यलाई अरघ दिएपछि सबै जना घर फर्किन्छन् र माइब्रह्म पुजेपछि घर छिमेकमा प्रसाद वितरण गर्छन् अनि खान्छन् । आफ्ना चेलीबेटी र आफन्त कहाँ सो प्रसाद पठाउने चलन पनि छ ।

एकदमै कठिन ब्रत छठ भएता पनि छठी माताको कृपाले होला रमाइलो रमझम, र पूजाको तयारी गर्दा गर्दै, आफन्त, छिमेकी सँगको प्रेम सहयोग/ सदभाव, र प्रकृतिको काखमा पूजाको खुशीले यो पर्व सजिलै सम्पन्न हुने गर्दछ ।

Chhath festival is an important festival celebrated by Hindus in Nepal and India . Shashti Bhagwati is worshiped on this festival to pray for the well-being of son, husband and family. This festival is celebrated with reverence and devotion, especially in the Terai (Madhesh) region of Nepal. Panchami on the occasion of this festival    It is customary for men and women who are fasting from the day of Ka, to take a bath in the holy reservoir and in the evening cook milk, rice and sakhkhar kheer as prasad and feed it to their family members who are not fasting. According to tradition, on the evening of Chhath, after standing in a reservoir and offering argah to the setting sun, they sit on the banks of rivers and ponds all night and sing bhajankirtan. The next day, on the morning of Saptami, they offer argah again to the rising sun. It is believed that celebrating Chhath festival with a pure heart will bring family well-being, children's happiness and wish fulfillment.

Sun has been worshiped since the beginning of creation. Agni Purana also mentions Shashti fast. It is described  in the Mahabharata that the Pandavas  along  with Kunti and  Draupadi performed this fast during fourteen years of exile and one year of exile  It is said that Kaushalya, the queen of King Dasharatha, also performed this fast in Treta  Yuga . Chhath celebrated in the month of Kattik  is called Big Chhath.  This festival is also celebrated in some places on Shashti Tithi of  Chait .

Chhath festival related to Surya Upasana is celebrated every year  on the days of Kattik Shukla  Panchami and Shasthi. Fasting people perform self-purification by bathing and fasting, which is called Kharna. On the day of Shashti, devotees bathe in the ghats of rivers and ponds and in the evening stand in the reservoir and offer fruits,  thekuwa  and kasar argha to the sun. Most of the fasting devotees spend the night on the banks of the river, while some return home. But because they have to think a lot about purity, they are careful not to be impure anywhere. Devotees believe that if you do this fast with pure feelings, you will get immediate results. Therefore, not only the mind should be pure, but everything should be clean, so not only the fasting people, but the entire family follows it strictly.

Immersion

On the next day of Shashti, on Brahmamuhurta, people go to the bank of the river with their worship materials and bathe, and after offering aghraya to the rising sun again, Chhath festival ends and Prasad is distributed. Sugarcane, banana, banana, coconut, sweets, gram, thekuwa, kasar, lemon and ginger are kept in Chhath Prasad. Special offerings of thekuwa made from wheat flour and kasar made from rice are made in pure ghee. It is a religious belief that after worshiping Chhath Mata, all the wishes of those who take a vow will be fulfilled. It is also believed that skin diseases can be cured quickly by doing this fast. Some devotees complete their fast by going to the banks of rivers or ponds in the evening and in the morning. Some of them also do things like not dancing, placing clay elephants in ponds and lighting lamps if their wishes are fulfilled. As vitamin D is obtained in sunlight, according to human physiology, the importance of this fast is still the same today.

Chhath festival , which starts from the day of Kartik Shukla Chatudarshi   , is celebrated in various regions of Nepal and India by worshiping the sun. The setting sun fasting with great devotion and devotion  And this festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm by worshiping the rising sun. It is a festival in which both the setting sun and the rising sun are worshipped. Everyone pretends to respect the rising or prominent person in the society, but no one looks at the setting sun, the poor and the destitute, but this festival conveys a message that everyone should be treated equally in any situation. Similarly, the sun gives light to all beings equally, so sun is worshiped to develop the idea that everyone should be treated equally. Celebrated twice a year in the months of Chait and Kartik with much fanfare, great attention is paid to purity and cleanliness. There is a popular belief that if you celebrate according to the law, all your troubles will go away. For the diagnosis of skin diseases, In order to get a son and to fulfill the vow, people indulge in devotion and go to the nearby pond reservoir and perform Chhath Puja on this day. While worshiping Chaith Materials such as sugarcane ,  banana plant,  turmeric ,  ginger ,  coconut ,  barley , bran, thekuwa, fruits, sweets are required. Worshiping the sun is done for four days by absorbing the glory of the sun, the symbol of equality, which gives equal power, heat and rays to all beings without any discrimination.

First day of Chhath-Kartik Shukla Chatudarshi

Chhath starts from the day of Kartik Shukla Chartudashi.  Chhath, which starts immediately after Dashain  and  Tihar , is celebrated by worshiping the sun. This day, which is considered the beginning of Chhath, is called Nahan Khan (bathed and eaten) by Britals. They wake up early in the morning, cut their fingernails, bathe with clean water, wear clean clothes and eat clean food. It is said that on this day, Britannias take a vow - I will not eat freely and I will take shelter of God with my body and mind.

Kharna

Second day of Chhath - Kartik Shukla Panchami

The second day of Chhath is called Kharna. On this day, after bathing and getting clean, in the evening, the Bratalus eat pure food like sugar pudding, gourd vegetables. The reason for having only one meal on this day is because of fasting on Chhath day i.e. the previous day without drinking water for the whole day.

Third day of Chhath - Kartik Shukla Shashti

The third day of Chhath means Chhath festival. On this day, the people of Bratalu stay fasting without even drinking water. In the evening, they go to nearby ponds, ponds, wells and water bodies and worship the setting sun. On the day of Chhath, the materials made for offering to the sun are taken to the ghat and dipped in water in turn, they are offered to the sun god. For the morning argha, some devotees stay in the water all night and worship till the sun rises, while some come out of the water after offering prasad. On this day, there is bhajan kirtan and dancing throughout the night. The ghat is decorated like a bride.

Fourth day of Chhath - Kartik Shukla Saptami

The devotees who are engrossed in worshiping the sun throughout the night worship the rising sun the next day. In the morning, with the warm rays of the sun, the Bratalus offer water to Anjuli and take turns offering offerings like Thakuwa Bhusuwa, fruits and sweets. After that, they go home and break their fast after receiving the sun's offering. [3]
